Biography

An artist whose music moves to the beat of the city, Deascent is a New Yorker through and through. Born and raised in the South Bronx, his style a testament to that East Coast sound the city is so known for, with modern, eclectic derivatives sprinkled throughout. Drawn to music at an incredibly young age, Deascent has been building his repertoire and polishing his prose for years. From his first solo venture, State of the Art, to a landmark performance on BET’s “What’s at Stake” series, to features on a soundtrack for an award-winning indie film, The Dunning Man, and a recent album drop as part of The Cold Press, Deascent is a force to be reckoned with in the hip-hop scene. Through creations of his own and regular project collaboration with Brent Butler, a Jersey-made rocker-turned-NYC-music-and-media-personality, Deascent’s robust catalogue features everything from heavy, introspective hip-hop hits to lighter, surf-rock style anthems, marrying East Coast and West Coast sounds ingeniously and expertly to create something no one saw coming. Deascent’s rising fame is a direct product of his adaptability, his unmatched lyricism, and his talent at bringing themes to his rhymes that audiences can feel all the way down to their bones.
