Biography

Hailing from the vibrant Rio de Janeiro, Eliane Rodrigues emerged early as a musical prodigy. Her talent was nurtured by Helena Gallo and later refined under Arnaldo Estrella. By age 3, she was composing music and gave her first recital at age 5. At 7, she performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 with the National Symphony Orchestra. Rodrigues won numerous awards, including the Gina Bachauer prize at the Van Cliburn Competition at 18. In Belgium, she continued her studies and became a revered professor at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. Her discography includes over 25 releases, featuring complete piano concertos by Prokofiev and Beethoven. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rodrigues was voted the favorite performer of all time by Belgian listeners of Klara for the Queen Elisabeth Competition, where she placed 5th in 1983. She embraced digital platforms, initiating over 150 livestreams that showcased her musical brilliance and provided solace to a global audience. Her innovative approach and lasting influence make her a prominent figure in the classical music scene.
