Kuba Libre makes Irish folk with hiphop, reggae and funk elements but without Irish folk elements. As a classically trained triangle player he was kicked out of the Royal Steilshoop Philharmonic Orchestra in Hamburg because of his inability to read music. Due to his strict parents, he had to make a decision at the age of 13 and gave up his professional career in hula hooping in favor of being an underpaid hobby musician. In the mid 2010s, he mainly gained experience on small stages. Over ten years later, the list is long: from the Java Jazz Festival to the Amsterdam Dance Event to the Dellnhauser Volksmusikfest in Wolnzach - he has watched a lot of YouTube videos in his spare time. In 2019, it almost came to a collaboration with the legendary French musician Serge Gainsbourg. However, this project did not come to fruition, as Gainsbourg had been dead for almost 28 years at that point. His hobbies are cooking and table tennis.
