Biography

Star Amerasu started her indie music project Ah-Mer-Ah-Su in 2015. Her music and video work have been featured in many publications including The Fader, Out Magazine, Paper Magazine, Them, I-D, Billboard Magazine and KQED Arts to name a few. Following her two critically acclaimed EP's ("Eclipsing" and "Rebecca") her debut full length album "Star" Released in 2018 via the label Dero Arcade was voted by Billboard critics as top 20 LGBT albums of 2018. Ah-Mer-Ah-Su worked closely with indie producer Vice Cooler and club hit maker davOmakesbeats to create an album of electronic positive, genuine club anthems that speak to anyone who has ever felt like an outsider in our patriarchal society. In fall of 2019 she released her Album of Orchestral works titled "Incandescent Body" which features orchestral versions of songs starting from her first release "Eclipsing" to her release of "Star". These works arranged with Minna Choi of Magik*Magik* Orchestra, are an emotional trip through memories of her youth. Incandescent Body premiered in San Francisco with a live Ballet from Post: Ballet company and accompaniment by The Living Earth Show. 2020 she hit the dance floor with her song Carry (I don’t wanna), inspired by her first turn at NYFW. She released an EP co-produced with Vice Cooler in 2021 titled “Hopefully Limitless” with the lead single “We Got It All”
