Biography

Promoe made his full-length solo album debut with Government Music (2001) on David vs Goliath. He then traveled to Jamaica for a couple of weeks in in 2003 to record tracks for the follow up album Long Distance Runner. The album was released in 2004 on which the track ”These Walls Don’t Lie” is still one of Promoe’s biggest hits. He returned to Jamaica to record with big reggae/dancehall stars Capleton, Assassin and Daville for the album White Man’s Burden (2006). Promoe released a Standard Bearer (2007), a compilation of various tracks which came with a DVD documentary from his last Jamaica trip and a live show. Promoe's fourth album, Kråksången (2009), his first full-length Swedish-language effort topped the Swedish charts in 2009 with the smash hit "Svennebanan”. Other popular tracks from the album is ”Mammas Gata” feat. Timbuktu, Supreme & Andreas Grega, ”Dekadansen” and the title track ”Kråksången”. Following years he focused more on Looptroop Rockers releases but in 2015 and 2016 he dropped the albums Mellan Passion och Mani and Fult Folk. Both in Swedish. 2017 Looptroop Rockers celebrated 25 years as a group and as a part of that they released 25 Looptroop related tracks. One every week for 25 weeks. Promoe contributed with six solo songs which ended up on the EP Run Deep released march 2018.
