Somewhere delicately balanced between the worlds of phonk, edm, and internet era trap music lurks Tulsa, OK's ever evolving Aceshootmedown, or often simply referred to as Ace. Heavy, electronic styled production frequently comes equipped with upbeat, at times even tropical, ornamentations, yet simultaneously and paradoxically, there is often a more sinister undertone to her music. There's an undeniable 90's Memphis, Gangsta Boo (or maybe even Koopsta-esque?) tinge to Ace's vocal deliveries just as much as there is an almost post-Y2K, Nicki Minaj mixtape influence present. Ace employs a dynamic array of styles in almost every song that range anywhere from low, rhythmic mutterings, hyphy, higher register smatterings, to more traditional rap flows. This diverse audible amalgamation is hard to pin exactly, but is somewhere in the realm of a more chipper $uicideboy$ meets 6 Dogs aftermath, yet absolutely uniquely its own. Most comparisons don't seem completely fair or adequate to encompass or describe Ace's talent and discography, not to mention we have't even addressed the work of her and her brothers' rap group, Martian Caviar. Regardless, Ace's most consistent sonic facet is her ever expanding repertoire, and her music's constant head bobbing catchiness. Easily one of Oklahoma's most up-and-coming, must watch artists.  - Natty Gray, Cult Love
