Biography

Camerata Cantilly was founded in 2014 as a chamber ensemble of wind instruments, the so-called Harmonie, as the only ensemble of its kind in Croatia. It is comprised of pairs of oboes, clarinets, horns and bassoons, enlarged by flute and double bass when required. The founder and the artistic director of the Ensemble is the clarinetist Mihael Paar. With its debut concert alone, the Ensemble introduced itself as a new force on the domestic music scene, soon followed by numerous performances throughout Croatia, both as part of the concert series and as part of the international festivals. The central event in the Ensemble’s season is a traditional concert held at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, though the Open Air concert which is annually held in Samobor has been established as a unique project. Since its founding, Camerata Cantilly has paid special attention to multimedia and its digital identity which resulted in a large and valuable catalogue of audiovisual material (live recordings, music videos, trailers, etc.). This brought the Ensemble closer to the widest audience, moreover the practice continued during the pandemic with a series of virtual concerts entitled “Camerata Cantilly – Connected”. Camerata Cantilly was awarded the “Milka Trnina” Diploma as the highest professional recognition for chamber ensembles and orchestras in Croatia. Ensemble's Debut Album Petite Symphonie (Live) was released 22-02-2022. PHOTO: Mirko Cvjetko
