Biography

Shhhh.... HU$H invites listeners to take refuge in a hypnotic hybrid of grunge, hip-hop, and electronic music underscored by his own unbelievable triumph of will. The vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer has survived an often-brutal upbringing marred by bullying, homelessness, confusion, and alienation to emerge as a dynamic and disruptive sonic insurgent. Signing to Strange Music and generating nearly 10 million streams and counting, he provides cover from life’s darkness via his debut LP, ‘Skunkworks’, and much more to come. “Anytime I left home, it was just me, my guitar, and my laptop,” he notes. “I’d end up on some couch or bench for the night and try to keep going. The only thing I’ve always had is music.” Born in Silver Spring, MD, his parents followed the Maharishi community—“The Movement”—to Iowa where he primarily grew up. At five-years-old, he messed around on a friend’s piano and fell in love with the instrument. Eventually, he received a guitar for his birthday and proceeded to “learn every Nirvana song.” Finally, he left Iowa in his teens. He spent two months homeless in Florida with “nothing but a nylon string guitar, a skateboard, and a suitcase.” Through a strange turn of events, he wound up “in a cult school” in California. During 2017, he introduced himself as HU$H. He served up a showstopping lyrical display on Soltan’s “Sick,” which Shaquille O’Neal even touted during DJ sets.
