Michael Moppert aka Sonarpilot is an electronic musician and producer who lives and works in Switzerland and France. Growing up musically in the 1970s, Michael ran a recording studio in the 1980s, produced bands and released a series of 80's synth-pop tracks. In the early 90’s Michael founded a successful software company that kept him busy for the next 15 years. He returned to music-making at the tail end of the 00s and created Sonarpilot, his musical alter ego. Since then has been releasing a steady stream of critically acclaimed electronic music. In the last ten years, Michael has worked closely with London based producer and DJ veteran Jonny Miller. Together the team initiated the label Sonarpilot Audio to publish Michael's work as well as a range of highly recognised music by electronic music artists from around the world. Artists that worked with Michael and appeared on the label include Brendon Moeller, Kirk Degiorgio, Trevino, FKA Mash and many more. In 2019 Michael began to create videos for some of his tracks. Quickly, the visual component became a key element. In 2020 Michael released "The mirage Project" - a series of award-winning videos with their bespoke soundtrack. The videos are journeys into an alternative universe. Medium.com called it "a work of art on the order of Kubrick’s 2001 merged with Ridley Scott’s Prometheus.".
