Biography

American jazz pianist Joshua Espinoza blends and bends genres into original compositions and arrangements that are immediately relatable, yet hard to define. A rising voice on the international jazz scene, Espinoza has performed alongside Warren Wolf, Miho Hazama, Sean Jones, Paul Bollenback, Alex Norris, John D’earth, Mike Pope, Kris Funn, Todd Marcus, and Chuck Redd. Upon the release of his debut album Journey Into Night (2019), Jazz in Europe hailed him as "one of the most exciting up-coming pianists." The pandemic years saw a small handful of single releases, leading to 2023's sophomore release Songs from Yesterday. All About Jazz called the album "a complete triumph." Espinoza's playing has been heard on stages large and small including the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, The Jazz Kitchen, Blues Alley, Keystone Korner, The Bop Stop, The Kennedy Center, the Barns at Wolftrap, and the Smithsonian Institute. The Joshua Espinoza Trio is Joshua Espinoza, Kris Monson (bass), and Jaron Lamar Davis (drums). Their debut album "Journey Into Night" was released in June 2019 and their sophomore release Songs from Yesterday was released in September 2023. More at http://www.joshuaespinoza.com
