Romain Leleu studied trumpet at the CNSM in Paris where he was awarded first prize for trumpet and chamber music, before going on to study with Reinhold Friedrich in Karlsruhe. He gave his first solo concert at the age of 14 and has since enjoyed a brilliant international solo career. As soloist he appears with (most recents) Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre National du Capitole, Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong-Kong Sinfonietta, BORUSAN Istanbul Phil. Orch., OSEMexico...), and as chamber musician often with Thierry Escaich. Trained in the traditional French trumpet school, Romain Leleu is an adventurous musician always exploring new universes; he has premiered new works by contemporary composers. He created his audacious Romain Leleu Sextet. Romain Leleu’s discography knows a sharp success. Romain Leleu gives international masterclasses (UC Los Angeles, Sibelius Ac Helsinki, Seoul Nat University, Conservatoire de Montreal, Yonsei Univ Seoul, Taiwan National University of Arts) He was awarded Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture.
