Biography

With nearly 400 live concerts under their belts Tir Nan Og are no spring chickens, but they still manage to reinvent themselves while stying true to their (Bavarian) Irish roots. With snatches of rock, reggae, and accoustic punk the six Irish Bavarians take their fans on a musical journey to the land of eternal youth - true to the band's Celtic name. No matter in which country they are playing Tir Nan Og manage to thrill their audiences with their very own Irish Folk Rock sound. While some songs get you in a dark and thoughtful mood, others are all fun and rock'n'roll and before you realise it you are singing and dancing along to a catchy tune. On their sixth album Tir nan Og celebrate traditional Irish themes like love, life, death and lots of alcohol, and yet Sing, Ye Bastards! is anything but traditional. From the light-hearted, alcohol-fuelled happiness of Sláinte to the angry and powerful Fear Gorta the band delights with a wide range of musical and emotional experiences. The new album takes the typical Tir Nan Og sound to a new level - it is more refined and mature than the previous ones but still as fresh and "eternally young" as ever. Sing, Ye Bastards! is modern Irish folk rock that is very more-ish!
