Sam Irl is a Lower Bavarian, Vienna-based producer, DJ and sound engineer releasing music since 2006 on labels such as Freerange, Jazz & Milk, Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood, Sampling As An Art and Frank Music. A diverse musical background rooted in jazz and record digging are important influences on his productions as well as his live- & DJ-sets, blending sample-based MPC grooves, jazz harmonies, analogue synthesizers and dub elements. His tracks are regularly played on the radio and in DJ-sets by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Mr. Scruff, Lefto, Jazzanova's Alex Barck, Jimpster, Session Victim, Mad Mats and more. Apart from his solo music, Sam releases records with Viennese techno pioneer Patrick Pulsinger as 'Pulsinger & Irl, which focuses more on dub-heavy, analogue house and techno. They have played live at Berghain / Panorama Bar, Sonar Festival, Sziget Festival, Ars Electronica, Zukunft Zurich, Golden Pudel Club and more. ‚Midnight Embassy‘ is the dubbed-out collaboration with Angela Aux, a multi-talented singer-songwriter from Munich. They have released one self-titled EP for Vienna’s International Major Label and also release music as ‚Angela Aux & Sam Irl‘ on Trikont. Together with Finnish producer Stiletti-Ana and local musician Feater they form the trio 'Skymax', so far having released two EP’s on IML.
 Another project for IML is 'Mantra Mantra', a duo with Daniel Helmer, concentrating on moodier & atmospheric synthesizer-based vibes.
