Lostu is a Detroit native and alternative hip-hop artist hailing from the lower Eastside neighborhood of East Warren/Poletown. Beginning his musical journey in string orchestra and later joining his school choir, he is now known for his unique melodies, romantic subject matter, and dark undertones. Lostu credits most of his inspiration to his fatherless upbringing, turbulent family life, isolated childhood, poverty stricken and sometimes violent environment. After getting kicked out of high school for the second time, instead of returning to formal education Lostu found solace in multiple areas of art, reinvesting himself in music as well as tattooing and illustration. Years later this would lead to collaborations with fellow Detroit artist tilla, forming the duo tilla x LOSTU and the lifestyle brand "its ok".
