Biography

Serhan Erkol is a saxophone player, multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger. He took part in orchestras such as Ricky Ford Orchestra, Lawrence "Butch" Morris Ensemble, TRT Istanbul Jazz Orchestra, Istanbul Superband, CRR Bigband and contributed to many jazz and alternative music albums in Turkey. He released two albums Motel ATM (Lin Records, 2017) and Melting Pot (Lin Records, 2019), which consist of melodic, narrative compositions using a combination of jazz, fusion, beat, world music elements. Having completed his undergraduate studies at Istanbul Bilgi University and his master’s degree at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston with a Fulbright Scholarship, Erkol worked with Ricky Ford, Ran Blake, George Garzone, Jerry Bergonzi, Lawrence “Butch” Morris, Donovan Mixon, Selen Gülün, Aydın Esen, Can Kozlu, Ali Perret, Peter Row, Allen Chase, Joe Morris, Anthony Coleman. Erkol continues to work on his solo electronic projects that became his primary focus after the pandemic.
