Biography

Black Apollo, born Brandon Kahlil Mitchell, is an explosive new artist that has been patiently honing his musical craft most of his life. Profoundly, there has never been a moment in Black Apollo’s life that he has not been surrounded by music. Music has always been a constant companion and at times a savior for this young artist. In middle school, he discovered his flair for writing poetry. Ironically, he noticed that when he performed his poetic work it came across as rap. The prose always had a noticeable rhythm to it. Eventually, he transformed his ability to master poetic expression into creating rap music. After he penned his first rap song, he became addicted to the craft. Throughout the early years, Black Apollo worked tirelessly to develop a delivery that would match the power of his lyrics. His earlier influences were artists like Tupac, Eminem and Rakim. To Black Apollo, these were artists who used rap to tell stories and entertain, but at the same time, use their music to convey a message. It is these elements that weave their way throughout every song Black Apollo releases. The beauty of his lyrical delivery is that he is able to rap with incredible speed but still enunciate each word. His ability to be creatively fluid allows him to wear many hats when it comes to creating his music. Being a writer, producer, artist and even graphic designer allows him an amount of control over his content that many artist don’t have in today’s music industry.
