Canadian pianist Sandra Mogensen has an active performing career as both solo pianist and in collaboration with singers. She has played in concert in both capacities in Canada, the United States, Denmark, and Europe. Sandra’s first solo recording, Piano Music of Edvard Grieg, was recorded in December 2006. Since then, Sandra has become known as a specialist in Grieg’s music, having released four recordings of the great Norwegian’s music so far. Ms. Mogensen’s focus has recently turned to the music of female composers. She has written ebooks “Connecting with Female Composers” for singers and pianists, and is creating a series of six recordings of piano music by female composers; beginning with music of the Romantic era, and working through to young composers of today. The first album in this "en pleine lumière" series was released in December, 2019 and features solo piano music of ten different composers born in mid-19th century. Ms. Mogensen has several decades of teaching experience, and continues to work with a small class of students over Skype. She has recently moved back to Canada after living in Copenhagen, Denmark.
