Biography

Shiri Coneh is a concert classical guitarist, known for her passionate and inspiring playing. She has performed at prestigious international music festivals including: Belgrad’s Guitar-Art Festival, Europaische Wochen Passau, Passauer Saiten, ‏Berlin Guitar Festival, Bad Aibling Saitensprunge, Zwolle Guitar Festival, Guitar Gems Festival and The Israeli Music Fest. ‏Shiri won the first prize and the Spanish Embassy prize at the Ariane Urushalmi-Eldor Guitar Competition in Israel. During these years, she won the America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships. Shiri went on to win first prize at the Berlin International Guitar Competition and at the Belgrade Guitar-Art Competition. ‏As a passionate advocate for expanding the repertoire of her instrument, Shiri collaborates frequently with contemporary composers and premiered new music for solo guitar by composers such as: D.Raij, D.Akiva, S.Cohn, Y.Halpern and O.Kochavi. ‏Shiri is also an enthusiastic chamber musician; She is a member of Trio Collage and collaborates regularly with flutist Daphna Itzhaky, as Air&String Duo. They premiered new music by some of Israel’s most prominent women composers and published the project in their album Tinged. ‏Born into a musical family in Israel, Shiri graduated her Bachelor's degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and her Master's degree with honors from the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, studying with Joseph Urshalmi, Eliot Fisk, Ricardo Gallén and Marco Tamayo.
