Biography

Having been enamored with the culture of Hip-Hop from as far back as he can remember, Ira Dubb’s steadfast passion for the genre only grows with time. Paired with a newfound love for Christianity, he now uses his voice and music to spread the good word via the captivating power of Christian Hip-Hop. Growing up on the west side of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ira Dubb had his own taste of how dangerous the streets can be. He himself was incarcerated for 3 years, but in 2015, his life changed forever when he transformed into a born-again believer. His style of Christian Hip-Hop echoes the sounds of days gone by, an homage to the golden era, infused with a modern twist. It contains a vigorously audacious boldness to it, as he merges the old with the new to create something that is truly timeless. Telling the tales of his own life through his thought-provoking wordplay, he aims to give his listeners a profound perspective on issues pertaining to social justice and equality. Being part of a movement known as M.O.G. (Men of God), the collective wrote songs together whilst they were incarcerated together. Additionally, Ira Dubb was also part of 'The Balm Squad', a youth group at his church for a period of time. These musical outlets, alongside his own career, give him a canvas to express righteous indignation, spread the gospel and give thanks to God for air that he still breathes.
