Distortion Six is a solo project created by Norwegian musician Nichlas Schermann. He began his career in the early 2000s and is primarily known for his work in the industrial music genre. Schermann's music is heavily influenced by the harsh and abrasive sounds of early industrial music, as well as the darker aspects of techno and metal. Despite these influences, Distortion Six's music stands out for its unique and innovative sound. Schermann does not rely on the usual conventions of industrial music, instead choosing to experiment with new techniques and incorporate a variety of other musical styles into his work. As a result, his music is characterized by distorted beats and layered distorted vocals, aggressive synth lines, and atmospheric soundscapes, all blending together in a way that creates a hypnotic and intense listening experience. Over the course of his career, Schermann has released several EPs and full-length albums, including work on the Ant-zen Records label. His most recent work is being released through the American Phage Tapes record label, where he is able to create both the music and artwork for his releases. Schermann's music continues to evolve and push boundaries.
