The up and coming artist Savvy Ani was born in NY, New York in the fall of 1993. Growing up he always yearned for a greater understanding of his surroundings through reading and watching movies. His mother and father made sure he understood the importance of education and music for a child living in the inner city. He grew up loving music but never dreaming of creating his own until he was inspired to rap by a friend in 2015. After discovering this new found passion he dedicated all of his free time to studying the works of Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Micheal Jackson, Blossom Dearie, Frank Ocean and many others. He honed his craft for 2 years while sleeping on his mother’s couch until performing his first few shows on the north side of Houston, TX. Hurricane Harvey displaced him and his family in September of 2017 and during that time he wrote his first two full songs while living in a hotel in Dallas. After that he moved to Los Angeles with $250 and his dog in 2018 in order to pursue his music career and released his debut single “Lost” in September of 2019 followed by his second song “Odessa” in April of 2020. “Odessa” grabbed the attention of over 20,000 new fans and prompted him to create his first ep “Escape” in July of that same year. Like the artists he admires, he grabs the attention of his listeners by blending thought provoking lyrics and powerful delivery with a style that is unmistakably Ani.
