Introducing VAZ, the visionary producer duo, fearlessly reshaping the Nordic music scene with a sound like no other. The Swedish-Cape Verdean sisters Cecilia and Jenny Vaz draw deeply on themes of cross-cultural identity, channeling the power of the West African diaspora and Nordic melancholy into their progressive electronic compositions. In describing the sonic world of their upcoming trilogy album FANTAZIA, the producer duo introduced the term Afro-Nordic Futurism. Fusing elements from classical music, avant-garde beats, and the Mourna ballad tradition, their bold new work unfolds a MIDI symphony that goes beyond music, to include performance, visual art, and technology. The release of VAZ’s debut album, NECESSARY, in 2017 was met with critical acclaim and secured nominations for "Producer of the Year" and "Alternative Pop" at the Swedish Grammy Awards.
