Xander Naylor is an American guitarist and composer who has become known for a style unparalleled in his generation. Naylor’s music honors the generations before him, blending elements of jazz, rock, and Indian classical music, into what Rolling Stone describes as “that signature Naylor sound.” Born of his own spiritual journey and deep study of multiple Eastern and Western traditions, music has brought him to perform in concerts and festivals all over the world, including Montreal International Jazz Festival, Umbria Jazz Festival, Central Park Summerstage, Lincoln Center, Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, and the Perelman Performing Arts Center (opening night). He currently tours with his own bands the Xander Naylor Trio and Breathwork, as well as with NYC-based acts Mwenso and the Shakes and The Sound of (Black) Music. Naylor’s most recent composition work was the original score for the motion picture Hayseed. The Hayseed soundtrack is out now on Music Lab Records. Naylor's music is also featured in the expansive trio Breathwork, whose 2024 releases are quickly garnering a cult following amongst lovers of improvisation, Americana, and genre smashing.
