The Bernese drummer is always seeking for musical adventures. He convinced in various bands with his groove-based style of play in a wide stylistic range. Born in 1980 in Bern, he started taking drum lessons at the age of 6. From 2004 – 2008 he studied at the Swiss Jazz School Performance and Pedagogy. During his studies he took lessons with Billy Brooks (USA). Since graduating he has worked as a freelance musician and composer for several bands. One of the corner points of his wide musical performances is the FM Trio, with which he played all over Europe. This ensemble is well-known for their improvisational challenges . Besides his engagements as the "favourite drummer of the Bernese Hip-Hop scene" (recited in the newspaper „Der Bund“, October 2014, Tommy Vercetti, Kaiser & Dimitri, Wurzel 5, Dezmond Dez) he also worked for the Stadttheater Bern (theatre of Bern) , he toured with The Faranas through Africa - whose debut album ”Who are You?” was enthusiastically reviewed by the media – and he is part of the excellent band of "Super Immigrant" Müslüm. Furthermore, he plays the drum for the Swiss award winner Baze with which he recorded the album Bruchstück. With his concerts series Buergi's Quest, Pt. 1 (launched 2014), he embarks on a search for his own sound and reinterprets with selected guests their songs.
