Miquel De Jorge (1994 · Lleida) is a Composer & Violinist based in Barcelona. In 4 years, he has worked on the music for more than 30 audiovisual projects of all kinds of genres from horror, action, adventure, experimental, comedy, animation and documentaries. His music for the image is like a script that gives shape and a new dimension and prespective to the characters, the light, the colours and the atmospheres. Also, his concert music has been premiered by different musical groups such as the Swedish Wind Ensemble, the Banda Municipal De Barcelona, the Suber Duo & Soinuaren Bidaia, among others. His last two chamber music recordings have been with the Quartet Vela on Vistes al mar with his work Hargalaten and with the Absit Duo with Impressions de La Sagrada Família in Trencadís With a classical background since he was a child, in 2017 he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in violin, specialising in Classical and Contemporary Music Performance at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona under the tutelage of Kai Gleusteen. In 2021 he graduated with a Composition degree in the Catalonia College of Music (ESMUC) studying with Bernat Vivancos, with the film composer Arnau Bataller, and with Per Mårtensson at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH). Awarded & nominated in many film festivals for his soundtracks, his most awarded soundtrack has been Luz de Mar (Banda Sonora Original), which has received recognition at festivals in Los Angeles, London and Bucharest.
