Hooll [Montreal, Canada] Montreal native, Martin Houle aka Hooll, has been crafting his sound aesthetic alongside the rich music community that he calls home for years. Taking his first steps into the foray of the big eye’d, big floor, big sound era of the 90’s warehouse MTL rave scene - it was not long before he turned his energy toward building on this foundation through production and throwing jams of his own. Now, wIth more than a decade of building community and revealing in sound, Hooll’s canvas has evolved into the perfect balance of his unique perspectives. Dance floor meets studio, meets underground. Hooll’s live performance and productions are the living, ever moving embodiment of his surround. Constantly in motion, his authentic, diverse, bass heavy unpredictable compositions reflect his sideways shuffle through minimal techno, dub, house, micro and beyond. Surprising narratives and complex unassuming textured frames modulate an evolutionary tale of fluid and mindful moves - a cultural manifestation of diverse groves.
