Biography

Dubbed “Singapore’s King of Swing,” Jeremy Monteiro has garnered critical acclaim all over the world since helping to put Singapore on the jazz map when he led a band of established international musicians onto the main stage of the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1988 
 He started his career in 1976 at the age of 16. 
 Monteiro has performed and/ or recorded with the likes of James Moody, Benny Golson, Michael Brecker, Bobby McFerrin, Randy Brecker, Lee Ritenour, Herbie Mann, Ernie Watts, Charlie Haden, Terumasa Hino, Carmen Bradford, Matt Monro, Toots Thielemans, Simon & Garfunkel. 
 His album, “Live at No Black Tie - Kuala Lumpur” released early in 2021 with bassist Jay Anderson and drummer Lewis Nash is his 45th jazz album as leade and it reached the Top 20 of the Jazzweek Charts in 2021 
 His latest album, Jazz-Blues Brothers his 46th, is a collaboration with top Italian organist Alberto Marsico. It was released on 1st October 2021 
 He is a Global Arts Ambassador for EFG Bank. 
 Jeremy received the pinnacle award in the arts in Singapore in 2002, the Cultural Medallion. 
 Today, Jeremy continues to bring jazz to all corners of Singapore, and Singapore jazz to countries all around the world with his musician friends and with the Jazz Association (Singapore) orchestras.
