Joel is a composer and sound designer from Switzerland. Since he moved to Zurich for his diploma after years of study in Bonn and Arnhem, he is also our roommate. So step by step our living room turned into the bedroom / studio where he still works today. Joel is a sound artist. Anything that makes any sound when touched, brushed over, tapped or knocked over inspires him. We haven't been surprised for a long time when Joel kneels in the bathroom and devotedly records a toilet roll , or sets the hiss and rattle of the coffee machine to music with four microphones in the kitchen. Everything is music, and together with the melodies - often recorded by the artist himself - they are turned into those magical pieces that made the creative bubblehead the winner of the 2020 Game Audio Awards. The award now lies somewhere among bird whistles, marimbas, maracas, a dulcimer and a trombone under his bed. You get to hear his music. We hear the yowling, whining and rattling as it emerges. You get to see the genius. We see the guy who drinks so many cans of mate a day that doctors say he should actually have multiple forms of diabetes.
