BJ Baartmans is a guitarplayer/singer songwriter/producer from The Netherlands, born in 1965. Composing and playing music that’s deeply rooted in traditional Americana styles but that also embraces elements from jazz, african desertblues and gypsy music. He’s a gifted storyteller with a very personal way of writing and delivering lyrics, both in Dutch and English. BJ is also a member of The Space Age Travellers, The Matthews Baartmans Conspiracy, Matthews Southern Comfort and Pollux. And he can be heard as a producer and sessionplayer for many more artists.
