Award-winning Filipino soprano-songwriter, Lara Maigue is a graduate of the UP College of Music major in Voice. She was recognized by the Aliw Awards Foundation as Best Female Classical Performer for 2017 and Best Female Crossover Artist for 2018.. These recognitions cap the last few years where she has had numerous singing engagements with the top orchestras in the Philippines. As a songwriter, she figured prominently at the Philpop where she was finalist in 2013 with her song, Sa ‘Yo Na Lang Ako and again in 2015 with Nasaan. Lara graduated from the Elements Music Camp and continues to mentor aspiring songwriters in various boot camps including Philpop’s nationwide project. On the musical theater stage, she alternated as Ligaya, the lead female character in the stage musicale version of Maynila sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag directed by Joel Lamangan in 2017 and also essayed the role of Monica in the opera, The Medium, in 2017 and 2018. Lara’s repertoire includes classical, jazz, standards, Broadway and pop. In recent years, she has performed alongside Gary Valenciano in his Gary V Presents series, at the opening number of Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s 30th anniversary concert, R3.0 and has guested in many concerts of Ogie Alcasid. She was also Finalist at the Singapore Lyric Opera Asean Vocal Competition. Lara has performed many times on the stages of the CCP for various special shows and all over Asia, Europe and Australia.
