Man of Isle is an Austrian indie-band founded by singer/songwriter David Edlinger. The debut album Planting Hearts, released in 2019, is an autobiographical rehabilitation and musical confrontation of Edlingers growing-up in a sect and the tragic loss of his mother. „Fortunately the sound doesn`t get beaten down by such heavy content. With a big heart for melody-pop their album ranges between the grand air of The Pretty Things in the days of S.F. Sorrow and the spheres of The Flaming Lips` album The Soft Bulletin or Mercury Rev`s Deserter`s Songs.“ (Wiener Zeitung) For Planting Hearts Stefan Deisenberger - former Naked Lunch - took part as producer. In 2018 Man of Isle`s first single Shiva was chosen as title song for extreme mountaineer Hans Kammerlander`s life portrait movie „Manaslu-Berg der Seelen“. End of 2020 Man of Isle did a reinterpretation of their 2019 released single Youphoria. For this new version the band decided for a collaboration with Austrian singer/songwriter Sigrid Horn. Youphoria II grew on a new song arrangement for live shows in reduced band formation, effected to protective measures on stages against COVID 19 in Summer 2020. www.manofisle.com
