Biography

Hyroglifics has been a stalwart of the Critical Music roster following his debut Binary Vol.1 release in 2014. Building on a faultless back catalogue, 2020’s Best Of EP and 2021’s Forlorn EP both represent his unflinching dexterity in drum & bass production, turning his hand from tender musicality to dance floor-charged heavy hitters with a rare and enviable finesse.  This is an artist with a sharp and distinctive sonic identity, completely at home in drum & bass but just as comfortable outside of it. His and Sinistarr’s collaborative EP for Naina and Sherelle’s Hooversound imprint demonstrate his ability to sculpt his sound into exciting new shapes, ranging from hard-hitting hip-hop beats to soothing, emotional productions. Beyond his mettle in the studio, there’s a reason why Hyroglifics is highly sought-after. In 2022, Hyroglifics is all gas and no brakes. He kicks off the year with releases on Alix Perez’s 1985 Music and Ivy Lab’s 20/20 imprints, followed by an exclusive performance at the world-renowned bass festival The Untz with the 1985 Music crew. 2022 will see Hyroglifics take his sound across the pond once again for his North American tour dates in the summer, all the while working on new beats and albums for rising artists CLBRKS, Black Josh, Nah Eeto, and more. Over the past decade, Hyroglifics has proven his place and further develops his musical voice with each passing year, an inimitable artist with an undeniably promising future ahead.
