Karikatura is a New York based transglobal soul band, making life-affirming, body-shaking music that moves people around the world. The band has toured everywhere from Japan to Brazil, across the United States and Europe. An organic synthesis of all the music heard blasting out of car windows and shops onto the streets of NYC, Karikatura lives where cumbia meets hip-hop, reggae meets klezmer and indie-rock meets merengue. Neither purist nor revivalist, this is music of the present, for the future. Karikatura recently completed a tour of South & Central America with the American Music Abroad “American Voices” program and European Summer Festival tour. They are preparing for the release of their next full-length album "Ghost Light."
