Shofu Tha BeatDown was born in London, England - his mother gifted in visual arts and his father gifted in music composition. After moving to Los Angeles at the age of 2, BeatDown easily found multiple ways to express himself. After releasing self-produced #GITTEM Tha Mixtape in 2017 as a birthday present to himself after his 300th beat, then #GITTEM2 - HeatMan exactly a year later and #GITT3M in 2020, a 2-year hiatus during the Covid era birthed the songs on his newly-released 2023 album #Never4gittem. The Krump scene (in which 40% of dancers create their own tracks to dance to) heavily influenced BeatDown’s sound and character. “If I had to sum up my entire style into one song, it’d be KrumpTown.” Currently, BeatDown’s working on #GITTEM5, helping @HypeMan Hunnitz get SPLASHGAWD released this year, and his animation series, Tha Brutal Champion.
