"J-NoVA" is Brazilian Music Project of "Jun Izumi" Hello! I'm Jun Izumi, vocalist from Osaka Japan, based on NY :) I grew up with listening to LP records of old jazz masterpieces. I got started playing classical piano at the age of five and have devoted myself to music by playing concerts and participating in competitions in Japan. I formed a rock band and performed as a vocalist and a keyboardist in Waseda University years. In 2013, I moved to NY and immersed myself in everything about jazz. I studied with saxophonist Steve Wilson, drummer Adam Cruz and many others. Later, I graduated with a BFA in Jazz Performance at the City University of New York in 2017. I also learned Portuguese language and performed Brazilian songs on a radio show. I worked at the famous jazz club, Jazz Standard as a staff for Mingus Big Band. I'm performing in various venues in NY and Japan. And just made a debut on Spotify!
