Biography

Christopher Moscato, p/k/a Short Moscato, is an American Hip-Hop recording artist and music producer from Buffalo, New York. Growing up, he was influenced by various genres of music, as well as visual and performance art. His sound can been described as golden age ethereal/psychedelic boom bap with new school overtones. Short's released his debut “The Colour of Air” dropped on March 17, 2017. His second album "My First Pair of Slippers," a new 11-track project, was released on August 11, 2017. Moscato has a notable live show, sometimes performing with live band Death Picnic. He has opened for national touring acts such as The Internet, Naughty By Nature, Freddie Gibbs, Isaiah Rashad, The Mars Volta, Cage, Blackalicious, Blueprint, Copywrite, Busdriver, Smif & Wessun and Watsky. Moscato is a member of the hip-hop trio "14 trapdoors" alongside fellow rappers/producers Wza & Illusive. “I fell in love with hip-hop when I was like 8 or 9 years old. Before that, I listened to whatever my mom played on the living room stereo... I really loved her stuff too. It was mostly Prince, soul and funk records. Hip-Hop draws so much from those genres that my interest in hip-hop was a logical “next step” in my progression. I started writing rhymes, diving into every album that I could, taping pages of The Source and XXL to my wall, etc., doing what hip-hop kids do. It became the truest form of expression for me; I became immersed in the culture...it became a part of me”
