Biography

On Tomorro Tomorro's new EP, LOCKDOWN LOVE, singer-songwriter M.D. Halas and Nashville-based writer/producer Phantom Farmer turned stolen moments and collages of creative elements into a cohesive snapshot - a moment reflecting the lived experience of many individuals and families forced inward by a pandemic. For those fortunate enough to have an upside to all this, the songs on LOCKDOWN LOVE might illuminate a path to unlocking it. Through the five tracks on this follow up EP, Halas makes an about face from July 2020's GENTLEMEN GO, whose 12 tracks traveled through choked, low rumblings, barbaric improvised yawps, expert trash-Americana guitar stylings and sludge blues. She landed four months later at LOCKDOWN LOVE, the title track. Featuring Nashville based MC, Daisha McBride, the song celebrates earnest, honest love through the story of lovers who used lockdown as a time machine to their honeymoon period. Phantom Farmer's fresh and quirky sonic palette is a perfect backdrop to Sade-inspired melodies, that Halas delivers in several layers of herself along with clever harmonies by vocalist Helen Vaskevitch. Daisha McBride delivers the lines "There's a beautiful thing about falling love/You can make it last forever if you want it enough". It's a simple yet largely unattainable concept but Halas explains why we must try, "There's no where else to go. How long, how long? We don't know".
