Uncle G is a funk/soul act based in Finland. Although lead singer Gustav Nyström isn’t an Uncle, the alias serves as a tribute to the ”uncles” in funk and soul music (M. Gaye, S. Wonder, B. Withers and J. Brown to name a few) who have influenced the bands music heavily. The band, also known as the Nephews, consists of bassist Jonathan Bäckström, drummer Victor Nyblom, and guitarist Joel Svenfelt. The band wishes to keep the flirtatious romance of the 60’s and 70’s alive, while still delivering the message with their own sound.
