From acoustic and resonator slide to dirty P90 grit, and all kinds of Blues in between! Lately the "smokey" tones that his cigar box guitar brings to the mix has added a nice spice to his slow blues and funky Hill Country grooves. About 25 years ago, Chris really got into the Delta and Bentonia style Blues from sitting on Jack Owens' porch listening and learning from Jack and Bud Spiers. " Drinking Hawgmouth Gin and watching those two Blues Kats get down changed my life! I couldn't believe what I was experiencing. I became friends with them and they would gladly show me those Bentonia licks. I still spend time hanging out and jamming with Jimmy "Duck" Holmes at the Blue Front Cafe. He also learned from Jack Owens. Those times with Jack and Bud really moved my heart to the blues and rearranged my molecules!"remembers Chris. Gill's original songs are a mix of Juke Joint Boogie and Piedmont style finger picking. He has played all types of festivals over the last 10 years.
