Recently starring as Eliza Hamilton in the hit musical ‘Hamilton’ in London’s West End & joining the list of Brit School alumni is London-based singer/ songwriter and guitarist Shan Ako. With influences from Gospel, Pop, R&B, Folk & Reggae. She began releasing self-produced music as a teenager - developing & sharing her message, drive and love for music, which still continues till this day. She has gained exceptional credits & performance experiences over years including winning the Project Aloft Star (emerging artist competition run by Starwood Hotel Group & BBC Radio 1 DJs) . She has recently gone on to win Best Performer in a Musical at The Stage Debut Awards in 2020 and in 2021 received a National Diversity Awards nomination in The Positive Role Model category. Shan is currently actively engaged in her local community and church, Shan is a passionate supporter for mental health and well-being and is studying for a Masters in Positive Psychology. After gaining a degree in Music Business Shan went on to developing her talents through theatre & stage. She has toured the UK & Europe in Theatre Productions, playing the leading role, in Whitney Queen Of The Night and is currently to be seen playing Eponine in the All Star Staged Concert of Les Miserables in London’s West End.
