To speak of Onice is to recognize the history of reggae in Spanish, after more than thirty years in force on the scene, this genre has grown enough to encompass a massive community well representative in the Hispanic geography. Being known in the musical world identifies them as a Latin or Rock en Español group, but Onice's fight is to achieve that reggae in Spanish is accepted as a universal musical genre. Formed on February 22, 1987, it has a long history without interruption, accompanied by five full-length albums that are “Capas Concéntricas”, the first reggae album produced by a Venezuelan group (1994), followed by “La Verdad”, then “Ha Llegado el Momento”, then“ Restauración”and more recently“ Gran Sabana Dub ”in tribute to the renowned musician Miguel Noya. Also an endless number of participations in compiled albums and in national and international festivals. Its members are Daniel González on lead guitar, Chico Miranda on rhythm guitar, Genis Miranda on keyboards, Franklin Díaz on drums, Manuel Blunt on bass and Alexis Bello on Sax, who recreate a musical concept with a global sound adaptable to all kinds of audiences without distinction of age and social class.
