'hush the unquiet mind' is the fifth album released by praam. It’s the most recent footnote in a gorgeous, rapidly snowballing body of work, in which the Utrecht-based musician and composer emerges as an extremely productive artist guided by his own imagination and gut feeling. His debut LP 'sentience' rings true, as its title meditates on 'the capacity to feel rather than to think''. Successors 'perceptionism', 'luminance' and 'between two poles' – released through American label Sonder House and Swedish label 1631 Recordings – amassed more than 25 million streams worldwide. 'hush the unquiet mind' – released on September 20th, 2024 – is the first part of an upcoming three album journey that revolves around akasha (or akasha field, the cosmic consciousness where all thoughts/events/emotions of the present/past/future are stored). This upcoming first album 'hush the unquiet mind' focuses on stories from the past, fragments of personal and universal history, told through a set of simple instruments: exclusively piano, strings and organ. It also touches on the themes of spiritual discovery through silence and introspection and the concept of akashic records. Recordings have been done with Jonas Pap (Red Limo String Quartet / Eddie Vedder), Gijs van Klooster (Joep Beving / Hania Rani), Jan van Duikeren (New Cool Collective, Gare du Nord), and multiple string players from the Metropole orchestra and the Dutch philharmonic orchestra.
