Freek Bes is a trance producing artist from The Netherlands. Nowadays, he mostly releases records under his alias Monospace. Freek started out in 2015 as a programmer for a small Dutch music website called Jengle Play, through which he discovered his love for music and music production. This music website later evolved into TunePlay, which still exists to this day. Some of his friends were already quite active in the music scene (such as Julian Lieftink, The NGVirus and Ross Slotboom), which he took inspiration from, all while helping them out by offering a place for them to host their music. In 2018, he started producing himself. While he helped out a little on Falcon, his first ever actually self-produced track was Ceres. It was received quite well, but the CPU Crashers remix really kicked it off. Later that year, he started co-producing together with The NGVirus as Monospace, and released Exploration of the Phantom Streak. Their first artist album followed in November 2019: Intrusive. In 2020, The NGVirus left the project, and Monospace became just an alias of Freek's. He released his single Subspace Dreams shortly after that.
