Revealed within the framework of Dear Criminals, where any venue, small or large, quickly becomes as intimate as a bedroom, and more recently in this solo project Carla Blanc, where he literally invited us in his own bed, Charles Lavoie has become a master in the art of inhabiting every second that music offers us as a gift.  It may not be a coincidence that he continues to be involved in a multitude of creative projects associated with cinema, opera, theater, contemporary dance, as well as visual arts. Undoubtedly, Lavoie has found in this new channel of Carla Blanc’s lofi bedroom pop sound a way to address what is universal in every human being, something that could easily be summarized as a craving to feel that we are never alone.
