Biography

As a trained jazz pianist, Rasmus Faber had a unique beginning to an illustrious two-decade long career in electronic dance music (and latterly as a composer of TV and film music). Becoming a household name to fans of the melodic side of music in the 2000s, Rasmus’s distinctive approach to production led to releases on the world’s most successful dance labels and collaborations with major artists such as Axwell, Deadmau5 and Kaskade. Having brought his house productions to life via his latin music inspired world touring band Rafa Orchestra, a new live project was born called Platina Jazz; a Swedish big band covering Japanese anime songs resulting in 9 albums, many millions of YouTube streams and regular concerts all over the world. Becoming a multi-instrumentalist and procurer of exotic instruments has allowed Rasmus to create daring and boundary-pushing scoring and soundtrack works over the last decade. This kind of artistic progression is a keystone to his longevity and continued popularity exemplified by his album Two Left Feet which was recorded and performed entirely with live instruments by Rasmus. Unique is still the word that best describes Rasmus Faber and his career today. A uniqueness earned from two decades of success as an electronic music producer coupled with the knowledge and craftsmanship developed from working in the classical, jazz, latin, film / tv and computer game scoring worlds that allows for a deep understanding of how music really works.
