Biography

Paranoid Image is a genre-bending alternative acoustic fusion band that was created in late 2016 by Christopher Malone and Sara Geller. They stick to an almost all-acoustic instrumentation and a versatile percussion section (no drum set) to create their original music (along with a few covers). The percussion has a strong tribal feel while infusing elements of industrial, jazz, and Latin. That serves as the foundation for the music which has a world music genre span including elements of Americana, jazz, funk, grunge, bossa nova, zouk, folk, ballads and more. Since its creation, Paranoid Image has played dozens of shows with a wide variety of bands, including their own shows featuring collaborative performances. They are known to have additional entertainment artists, such as tango, samba, and belly dancers, and more. As the sound of the band has evolved, some songs playfully include electric instruments (electric guitar, electric bass, clavinet, Rhodes keyboard, etc.). Live performances have included orchestrations with strings, horns, and a choir. In 2018, PI released its first album, "Burning Paint", which includes original music and their cover of TV On The Radio's (Christopher's brother's band) "I'm Gonna Keep Your Heart". More singles were released in 2021 and are being released (along with an album) throughout 2023. PI looks forward to creating more music and growing awareness of their musical brand.
