The Congosound is the alias of the visual artist Carles Congost through which he carries out tasks of songwriting and production intended to be part of his artistic projects in the field of contemporary art. In the late 1990's, The Congosound was originally conceived as a duo, together with the musician Vicent Fibla and the sporadic participation of the vocalist Jessie. Along a decade of intermittent activity, they released the 12 inch "Jessie's Theme" (Cosmos Records, Barcelona, 1998) and "Say I'm Your Number One / Superpitcher vs The Congosound" (Kompakt, Cologne, 2008) and the CD album "Jackson" (Cosmos Records, Barcelona, 2002), as well as a bunch of remixes for the successful Spanish bands Fangoria, Astrud and Manta Ray. A few years later, they released the single "Pepsi Love" (Maletas Violentas, 2012) with Ryan Paris, the voice of the italodisco megahit "Dolce Vita", and the producer Stefano Maccarrone. From 2015 to the present, Carles Congost has been carrying out a long-term collaboration with the Catalan singer and musician Josep Xortó, with whom he has released a series of singles, like "Això que sona és nostre' (Maletas Violentas, 2015), "Port de la Selva" (Maletas Violentas, 2017) or “Nova esplendor". The album “Ocells com tu” (Austrohúngaro/ Maletas Violentas) comes up in 2023, collecting those previous songs and some new ones. Meantime, they have been remixed by Italoconnection, Mind Enterprises, Tversky and Hidrogenesse.
