A practice of sound design for life. Tom’s fascination has led to years of exploration, often through collaborations exploring sound within visual, kinetic and musical projects. Finding moments of sonic cohesion with others drove Tom to complete a degree in Live Sound For Theatre and Events at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). This provided a broad and technical basis for working with sound professionally. In 2010 he began performing with 80’s inspired, Bastian's Happy Flight - EP01 and instrumental band, Antelope Tapes . The bands enabled him to hone his live and production skills while playing international supports and touring. In 2013 he co-founded Barking Wolf, a film company telling socially impactful documentaries. Sound design became a key tool for connecting intimately with audiences by deepening emotion, feel, place and voice. Tom began applying approaches from music and documentary to other fields. 2016 onwards saw art exhibitions, podcasts, film/tv audio post-production and ambient music releases. He undertook an extensive yoga teacher training which allowed him to appreciate the mindful act of listening. He saw the value outside of simply creating sound as media.
