Eduardo Elia is a jazz pianist, composer and improviser from Córdoba – Argentina. He has released 8 albums: “Callado”, “El yang y el yang”, “We see”, “Figuras de un solo trazo”, "Solo", "Cuando sea necesario", and “Lejos del torbellino”, by the BlueArt Records label, and the recently released by the New York based label 577 Records “The art of not faling – Improvisations on Schoenberg’s Op 19 piano pieces”, for which he was recognized as "Pianist of the Year" in the survey conducted by the specialized jazz website “El Intruso”. Parallel to his artistic activity, he has developed a constant and committed activity in the educational field, working as a teacher since 2002 in the Licenciatura en Composición Musical con Orientación en Música Popular at the Universidad Nacional de Villa María, of which he is currently Director. As a researcher, he participated as a speaker in congresses in Argentina and Latin America, sharing his works and articles on topics such as education of the popular musician, composition in improvised music, and the evolution of improvisation throughout the history of jazz.
