Pirate Radio is a cross-genre, alternative dance music project comprised of Brian Taylor & Karan Mehra that combines progressive house, trance, disco- house and electro-funk/soul with live guitars, keys and theremin.The project began with a serendipitous meeting in NYC after Karan and Brian moved to the city and set out to explore the local musical landscape. Their collaboration organically evolved from impromptu late-night acoustic guitar jams into even more late-night electronic house parties, with Karan on the decks and Brian on the electric guitar. Karan favors tracks by Jeremy Olander, Guy J, Solarstone, Miley Cyrus, Wellenrausch, Madeon, The Knocks and Gramatik, while classic guitar heroes like John Petrucci, Shawn Lane, and Les Paul heavily influence Brian's sound to create a unique fusion that keeps audiences dancing for hours.
